WHAT AILMENTS & CONDITIONS DO YOU TREAT ?
Doctors of Chiropractic care for patients of all ages, with a variety of health conditions.
Chiropractors are especially well known for their expertise in caring for patients with back pain, neck pain and headaches, particularly with their highly skilled manipulations or chiropractic adjustments.
We also care for patients with a wide range of injuries and disorders of the musculoskeletal system, involving the muscles, ligaments and joints. These painful conditions often involve or impact the nervous system, which can cause referred pain and dysfunction distant to the region of injury.
The benefits of chiropractic care extend to general health issues, as well, since our body structure affects our overall function. Chiropractors also advise patients on diet, nutrition, exercise, healthy habits, and occupational and lifestyle modification.
ARE YOUR CHIROPRACTIC TREATMENTS SAFE ?
Chiropractic is widely recognised as one of the safest drug-free, non-invasive therapies available for the treatment of neuromusculoskeletal complaints. Although chiropractic has an excellent safety record, no health treatment is completely free of potential adverse effects. The risks associated with chiropractic, however, are very small.
Many of our patients feel immediate relief following chiropractic treatment, however some may experience mild soreness, stiffness or aching, just as they do after some forms of exercise. Minor discomfort or soreness following spinal manipulation typically fades within 24 hours.
Neck pain and some types of headaches are treated through precise cervical manipulation. Cervical manipulation, often called a neck adjustment, works to improve joint mobility in the neck, restoring range of motion and reducing muscle spasm, which helps relieve pressure and tension.
Neck manipulation, when performed by a skilled and well-educated professional such as a doctor of chiropractic, is a remarkably safe procedure.
ARE CHIROPRACTIC TREATMENTS ONGOING ?
The hands-on nature of the chiropractic treatment is essentially what requires patients to visit the chiropractor several times. To be treated by a chiropractor, a patient needs to be in our clinic.
We may provide acute, chronic, and/or preventive care thus making a certain number of visits sometimes necessary.
We will tell you about the result of your Initial Consultation, we will also explain how many treatments you are likely to need and the likely timescales, and of course answer all your questions.
Generally, you will need more frequent treatments at the start of your treatment – to mobilise your spine and improve the way your nervous system functions. This will usually result in the relief of your aches or pain.
Repetition of the treatment at the beginning of care is like training the body to perform a new task (like going to the gym). The more it’s done, the quicker your body can hold the new balanced state. The frequency of your visits is reduced as your spinal function improves.

WHAT EDUCATION & TRAINING DO YOU HAVE ?
Educational requirements for doctors of chiropractic are among the most stringent of any of the health care professions.
Margaret & Tim are both graduates from Western States Chiropractic University in Portland Oregon, USA and have been practicing for over 18 years.
Doctors of chiropractic are educated in orthopaedics, neurology, physiology, human anatomy, clinical diagnosis including laboratory procedures, diagnostic imaging, exercise, nutrition rehabilitation and more.
Because chiropractic care includes highly skilled manipulation/adjusting techniques, a significant portion of time is spent in clinical technique training to master these important manipulative procedures.
PRIVATE INSURANCE COVERING TREATMENT ?
Chiropractic care is included in many private health insurance plans,
We would, however, advise that there are many policies with varying parameters relating to the type and extent of any treatment covered in your policy.
We recommend you check, before you begin your treatment plan, to ensure your provider has approved the proposed treatment plan.
We will always provide payment receipts to confirm any payments received should these be required by your insurance provider.
PERFORMING OUR ADJUSTMENTS ?
Chiropractic adjustment or manipulation is a manual procedure that utilizes the highly-refined skills developed during the our many years of chiropractic education and clinical practice.
We typically use our hands, or an instrument, to manipulate the joints of the body, particularly the spine, to restore or enhance joint function. This often helps resolve joint inflammation and reduces the patient’s pain.
Chiropractic manipulation is a highly-controlled procedure that rarely causes discomfort. We always adapt the procedure to meet the specific needs of each patient. Patients often note positive changes in their symptoms immediately following treatment.
